Today we will review the Koozie Sidekick Lunch Sack from Norwood and RCC Koozie. The "Koozie" brand has been around for several decades and most recently was merged into Norwood Promotional Products under the RCC Koozie line. As most would have expected the systems and policies of Norwood were quickly adopted and the Koozie line rapidly developed into an industry leader. Originally the product line involved the traditional beer/can koozies but has steadily expanded into coolers, or koolers as they are called.
The Sidekick has an attractive style to it, tall and sleek. The Royal is probably the most appealing and sought after color as it has a yellow accent that runs along the outside of the sack. With room in the rear for either a printed water bottle or your store bought water bottle it leaves plenty of room on the inside for items you must keep cold such as sandwiches. The inside of the sack has a simple clip that you can use to keep track of your keys. The large adjustable shoulder strap will accommodate almost any sized user from a little child up to a large adult. In terms of branding the sack has a huge area on the front that will allow your customer to easily present their message. With price considered we give the Sidekick high marks for design and function.
In repeated tests we found the Sidekick kept items reasonably cool for extended periods. In direct sunlight obviously the performance as not as great and that is a function of price and design. This is not a heavy duty cooler designed to be taken out and left on a beach, this is primarily designed to carry your lunch to and from work or school. It is also an excellent divider to be used to store lunches in larger coolers. The Tech-Net functions well and remains stiff after hundreds of cycles. Although not recommended we did wash a blank sack twice with no ill effects. It is recommended that you hand wash this type of item. We give the lunch sack high marks, B+ for durability and cooling.
We would like to see more color options but that is unlikely in this current economy. The trend has been to eliminate colors in the niche products and as of now the Sidekick is only available in the three standard colors of black, navy and royal.
