How useful do you find the major organizations like ASI and PPAI to your business? Many distributors are members of both or smaller regional outfits. Do you find they are helpful in dispute resolution and as a distributor do you think they protect you from manufacturers going direct?
Two years ago I had an ASI approved supplier send an invoice to our customer showing the price we paid and provided all of their sales contact information. Six months later they did it again, we complained to ASI who in turn did nothing.
The organizations need to get teeth to slap offenders otherwise the model breaks down and the fees are useless.
